Product Story

This is a token of belonging to one of the world's oldest and largest women's organizations. Organized on March 17, 1842, in Nauvoo, Illinois, the Relief Society began with a small group of women dedicated to relieving suffering and spiritual welfare. Under the leadership of Emma Smith, they established a legacy of compassion that continues today. With a History of Strength, The Relief Society has always been about taking action. In the late 19th century, Relief Society members were central to the suffrage movement, becoming some of the first women in the nation to exercise the right to vote. During World War I, the "Relief Society Wheat" program provided over 200,000 bushels of grain to the U.S. government to support the war effort. They also established the Deseret Hospital in 1882, laying the foundation for modern healthcare in the West. Wearing this is a reminder that you are part of a global sisterhood that has been changing the world for over 180 years.
